I have created root partition without a separate boot partition .
after installing grub every time it boot in command line mode so I should type these
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/kernel-3.8.130gentoo root=/dev/sda1
boot
how can grub boot automatically?
I solved it with
cp -a /grub /boot/
why I use emerge grub the grub folder is in / but not in /boot? |

looks like you did not run Code: | mkdir /mnt/gentoo/boot | after running Code: | mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/gentoo | and before skipping Code: | mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/gentoo/boot |

I only have one partition
/dev/sda1 ext4
so i can not mount /dev/sda3
and i have done the
mkdir /mnt/gentoo/boot
and the kernel-3.8.13-gentoo stored in /mnt/gentoo/boot/ |
