muscibrainz shellscript to retag audio collection?

Hello list, I am looking for a shellscript that would take a directory hierarchy and run it through the MusicBrainz database retagging it. It should be something depending only on media-libs/musicbrainz but not X11. I imagine it shouldn't be hard to cook something like this but I don't want to waste my time if this is already out there. A quick google couldn't find anything but perhaps people here know/have some script like this?

EDIT:After I posted I found beets. It might be exactly what I need, will check if it can compile in this old server.
