Hi everyone
I cannot say for sure what my problem is really about, here are
the symptoms anyway:
- after the latest reboot, X does not manage my keyboard and mouse
anymore
- there is no apparent error in the console when I immediatly kill X
- I cannot access tty's anymore once X acquires the focus, so debugging
is quite difficult
- X.org.logs are left empty
This happened right after the latest kernel config change (which is
however completely unrelated to input drivers or evdev or anything but
enabling scsi cdrom support).
I actually suspect a recent udev update that had not experienced any
reboot yet (I also faced a couple of usual udev naming issues when
rebooting).
I did try:
- falling back to a working backup kernel config (just in case)
- rebuilding udev
- rebuilding libudev dependencies (mostly xorg and xorg drivers)
I already tried search engines, browsing the forum, and nothing
sounded much useful to my case. I am all out of options, begging
for ideas.
Thanks,
Pierre.

I am using the Intel driver, xorg-server 1.13.3 :
Code: | [I] x11-base/xorg-server
Available versions:
(0/1.9.5) 1.9.5-r2
(0/1.10.6) 1.10.6-r2

(0/1.12.4) 1.12.4-r1
(0/1.13.4) 1.13.4
(0/1.14.1) ~1.14.1
(0/1.14.2) ~1.14.2
{{dmx doc ipv6 kdrive minimal nptl selinux static-libs +suid tslib +udev xnest xorg xvfb}}
Installed versions: 1.13.4(0/1.13.4)(22:45:58 05/20/13)(ipv6 nptl suid udev xorg -dmx -doc -kdrive -minimal -selinux -static-libs -tslib -xnest -xvfb)

My xorg-drivers is only built based on:

And I am using the latest stable udev (204).
Code: |
[I] sys-fs/udev
Available versions: 204^t ~206^t **9999^t {{acl doc +firmware-loader gudev hwdb introspection keymap +kmod +openrc selinux static-libs}}
Installed versions: 204^t(15:28:33 07/07/13)(acl firmware-loader hwdb kmod openrc -doc -gudev -introspection -keymap -selinux -static-libs) |

My bad. I must have slipped during the last --depclean, the actual sys-fs/udev package was removed while systemd wasn't compiled with openrc flag.
Problem is solved, I simply rebuilt systemd. |
