Hi,

I've been having a very weird problem for some time now. I figured it would go away after a few emerge world's but it never did.

I'm using grip 3.3.1. When I put a cd in my drive (blu-ray), the tracks will flash for a split second on the "tracks" tab of grip, then they are gone. When I try to do a rip, I get a "No disk detected in the drive." pop-up error. I have tried this with several disks, and the results are the same. Finally I took my disk to my wife's machine (who also has grip 3.3.1 on it), and it works fine... The interesting thing is that k3b has no trouble with this.... just grip. I like grip because of the amount of control it gives, so I'd like to keep using it.

Any ideas what is going on here?

Thanks.

G

I have the same problem.
I noticed that grip would even download the track info from the web
then suddenly go totally blank as if there were no disk in the drive.
It repeats each time you manually eject and insert the drive.

Than I noticed that gdbus was detecting the disk:

# lsof | grep sr0
grip 32255 herber 13r BLK 11,0 0t0 2609 /dev/sr0
gdbus 32255 32256 herber 13r BLK 11,0 0t0 2609 /dev/sr0

So I think dbus is not configured properly for the audio cd.

Hmm.. could be.

All I know is that I swapped out that drive for another, now it works. For whatever reason, GRIP hated that drive...
