Hi everybody
Could someone help me out here.
i have this sound chip on my Mainboard: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04)
and i'm not able to find the right Module in Kernel.
I've added all Modules under HD intel Sound subfolder but it looks like that this isn't the solution.
Here is my Kernel config file: http://pastebin.com/b9wUqz3J
Thanks in advance for your Support.
cheers

Which motherboard do you have?
Which audio chip is on that board - I'm not talking about the Intel HDA chip - there must be a second chip like Realtek ALC892 or something like that. Look at the manual/user guide of your motherboard. |

what is the basis for deciding you can't find the right module?
shows no driver?
or shows a driver but you don't hear any sound? _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Have you installed alsa? I had the same problem before I installed it. I added alsa to my USE flags in /etc/portage/make.conf and then updated my system. Alsa is automatically installed, when you have the USE flag set. |
