Hello
I've spent the last few days trying to work out why my first Gentoo install won't boot to a kde desktop. Or any desktop...... I get a command line to log in.
The log in is accepted. But that's as far as it goes. My Gentoo install won't ping nor emerge anything! Yet from the from my other hdd I can.
Perhaps I've found my typo.
Anyhow minutes ago I tried to ask a quick question in irc gentoo-kde only to be told
Code: | 20:17] [404] my nick #gentoo-kde Cannot send to channel |
I'm curious to know why I can't seek a quick answer in IRC Gentoo-kde, yet in gentoo I could.
And how to fix the problem. |

When you say won't ping anything or emerge anything, what kind of error are you talking about? Or, you log in and don't even see a prompt? Please be descriptive or we won't know what you're talking about. |

The reason for the "cannot send to channel" error is that you must be registered with and identified to services in order to speak in #gentoo-kde (as well as many other channels).

#gentoo-ops only really handles #gentoo issues. |
