unmasked 0.9.8.0 network manager and nm-applet to resolve a bug in my wg111 v2, so far so good. was a breeze to install except telling evolution to not install hanging the install process for a bit. |

unless you give us something to work with (like an error message or a log output), it is unlikely to solve your issue. _________________ read the portage output!
If my answer is too concise, ask for an explanation. |

ive unmasked wpa_supplicant 2.0 & enabled WEXT in kernel. iwconfig has returned to working & wicd is working to show access points again.... (though i dont use wicd for anything other than scanning access points) (this is a NetworkManager problem & i suspect something like wpa_supplicant is the root of the problem)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/225851 is my issue.... wep hex key, instead of wpa as originally posted.
i connect, i send load down the line, it stops seeing other access points, then disconnects and shows none.
dmesg is not helping much, just errors about ip v6. & possibly this gem...
ieee80211 phy2: wlan0: No probe response from AP xx:xx:xx:xx:xx after 500ms, disconnecting.
lsusb produces....
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0846:6a00 NetGear, Inc. WG111v2 54 Mbps Wireless [RealTek RTL8187L] |

Well both use wpa_supplicant as dependency so perhaps it's not related to it. |
