I have seen this as well, just put it down to the 4OD website being buggy and didn't try anymore. It would be interesting if someone has some ideas though. |

Same problem here, I've ended up using the 4od channels on youtube but they don't update that as often. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

Yep all the programmes I want are not on there yet .
Looks like this is gonig to be a vmware job or through wine .
Defeats the whole purpose.
Surely there is away to fix this on Gentoo.
And for many Ubuntu users u can use install hal and the problem is solved.
Any idea why 40d uses hal anyways its nothing to do with videos is it ???

Done a bit more digging on this one, basically flash needs HAL to show DRM-protected videos. And Adobe have no plans to change that. There is a similar topic here: Amazon Instant Video and hal which explains how to install hal from an overlay. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

Interesting, I wonder how the likes of BBC Iplayer and ITV player work, as far as I know they both use flash? |

As for BBC iPlayer it doesn't use DRM unless you download the programmes with iPlayer Desktop, but that's only available for Windows and Macs, no idea about the ITV one. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

This has been going on for a while, and like somebody pointed out, it has to do with DRM. The last time I checked, Channel 5 had the same "issue". The real fix is for the media companies really, so not much to do. Personally, I switched to my PS3 for most things. |

According to the Amazon topic above this should work with media-libs/hal-flash which has been added to the Portage tree, but I haven't tried it yet. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |
