|
|
I have installed some packages in the past with porthole, which did not save anything to packages.*
Now I want to clone my desktop installation to a notebook by copying the worldfile and package.* but it fails because
many dependencies need repair.
How can I regain the flags that were used during the installation by porthole and complete my package.* files? |

jonasstein.
This packages the installed packages for you.
=<catagory>/<package>-<version> works too.
Do read its help before you start as it can include any configuration files that you have edited and security sensitive files too.
You might want this, you might not. It cannot package the defaults as emerged, as they are no longer on your system. _________________ Regards,

Sorry, I had not searched for porthole in the forums for awhile. It may be too late for this thread, but for anyone coming across this via search...
To answer this correctly, he was looking for a way to rebuild his package.* files.
It sounds like he didn't save his use flag and keywords setting before emerging them (possible from the Advanced emerge dialog).
To answer this, you need to use gentoolkit's "enalyze rebuild use" and "enalyze rebuild keywords" to generate new files according to the way they are currently installed. _________________ Brian
