Soundcard auto-"mute" CONEXANT-analog

Hi, im having an issue, although is not gentoo related (had the issue on windows too), maybe you can help me to debug it.

When im playing something on my laptop (whichever tsource) after sometime the soundcard get muted, no error in dmesg or logs, if i reboot i get sound again, sometimes if i plug in headphones and plug out i get sound again (with headphones and over hdmi the sound never goes out).

Please help me to debug this issue

Does your laptop have buttons for adjusting the sound volume/muting/unmuting?

If I recall there were certain laptops where those buttons have issues, but I can't remember which, as it was some time ago. Since you are saying that it happens in windows too, it sounds more like a hardware issue than software.

Which laptop specifically do you have?

Are your Os's installed the 32-bit versions or the 64-bit?

And after looking at the alsa output, I found some of the information that I was looking for.

I found it with the google search of : toshiba Satellite L745 sound issues

Basically in windows you go into the Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> SmartAudio, and then select between CLASSIC or MULTI-STREAM. Multistream means that you want to plug in an external device and have the sound streamed to both places.

Now, if that sound card has that capability, then there MAY be an option for it in linux as well. That would mean looking at the documentation for your sound card and seeing if there is such an option.

Also, if you look at your mixer settings, there may be some odd option that you can turn on or off to change that behavior. That's just a guess, btw.
