|
|
I used to use ddccontrol for changing my gamma on my displays (I have 3 of them). Some time ago it got broken and I was not been able to fix it.
Currently the ddccontrol-program says 'DDC/CI Supported: No'. What can be wrong? I have i2c compiled into the kernel and I use the NVidia binary driver, I don't use a framebuffer. |

I never could get it to work, I don't think Nvidia supports it. If you use nvidia-drivers nvidia-settings is available.
If you just want to set gamma values emerge xgamma. Simple commands like:
Code: | xgamma -gamma 1.3
xgamma -rgamma 1.4 -bgamma 1.2 -ggamma 2.

I really would like to use the DDC because I want to change the brightness, not the gamma. Strange thing is the screen DPI readout does work... |

The old ddccontrol used direct PCI access to change monitor settings. The new one uses the standard kernel I2C interfaces, which doesn't work with the blob for obvious reasons. |
