After being away for too long, I've installed KDE on a new system (AMD64). It used to be that you could right click on the desktop, click on Create New, and then add a shortcut to a file system. With the shortcut, you could mount or unmount the file system.

I don't find that option in the new KDE. All there is is about widgets and activities, and none of that is what I'm looking for.

Am I missing something? Did I miss a USE flag or something?

Thanks,
Vicki

You didn't miss anything but the discussions of the last half decade :)
You should make a Youtube video of the adventures of yours in the new era.
Outch, I missed you missed Youtube sleeping ...

Seriously you should consider using the Xfce desktop.

I think what you are missing is the "Folder View" plasmoid.

If it isn't available already it might belong to kde-base/kdeplasma-addons.

Thanks CaptainHero, that was the ticket..... Clicking on Folder View on the Layout option for the Desktop menu makes the whole desktop into a Folder View.

Now, how do I add [Solved] to the subject.... Boy am I embarrassed!
