I was wondering releases like, KDE 4.10 RC1, then RC2 etc... and keyword it.

This way, the system is more updated and helps testing KDE.

But those are life ebuild right? 9999. They build from version control?

Why not just tag rc-1, put it in the official tree and mask/keyword it; that way it's more desirable to install it.

Slightly OT here but I must say I had a serious "what the hell is happening to version numbers lately" a few days ago when I installed firefox 19 and saw that nightly is at v22! And then I realized chrom(e)/ium had overtaken emacs in terms of version number :P :D
