I think Heineken is a decent beer. Let's put it this way: it's better than most of the other beers you can find almost anywhere (such as filling station convenience stores). It has the propensity to go skunky, though, if not stored at the proper temperature. |
Skunkification comes from it being struck by light. Green bottles always bad. Get it in a can. |
I didn't know light was the problem, I thought it was improper refrigeration.
The problem with cans is that beer in cans tastes like cans (tastes like metal and whatever that plastic shit is they use to coat them). _________________

I've got some Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro at home waiting for me, but that's the opposite of a bad beer.
Beer I consider truly disgusting? Coors Light. Never forget. Never again. |

Also, I wish people would stop making pumpkin pie flavored "beer" each Autumn. It tastes like shit. |
I couldn't care less what the germans allow. Floral notes comes from the hops. |

Never had coors light.
I find all those random lagers taste the same. The european ones are a slightly higher class of crap, but crap nonetheless. Amstel, Heineken, Canadian, Labatt, Bud, Coors, Becks all tastes like random lager. I would rather drink wine (and that's saying something). |

I wonder if the lining is BPA?
Quote: | It is well established that iso-alpha acids, in the presence of both visible and ultraviolet light, are responsible for the formation of 3-methyl-2-butene-thiol (3-MBT) - a chemical compound known as a mercaptan that is the cause of the unpleasant "light-struck" or "skunky" off-flavour associated with beer exposed to light. When beer is packaged in clear or green bottles, the increased amount of light that can penetrate these packages significantly increases the risk of the chemical reaction that results in 3-MBT. |

Miller supposedly uses something like what those guys sell, and it doesn't really work. Let any beer be exposed to direct sunlight for a few minutes, and you have skunked beer. |

The Reverend James kills your sound subsystem if you spill it on your desk and some overflows and runs into your headphones.
The headphones still work. |
