System showing 100% busy while KDE screensaver turned on.

I have upgraded to the latest KDE system I have the slideshow playing on my KDE screen saver as I have for several years. The latest screen saver/locker seems to be sitting in a tight loop as the CPU activity shows 100% on all 4 CPUs when the screen saver is on. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
