Hello, I gonna install chromium, but I mainly use pulseaudio for everything, and this is what happens in my system:

Code:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N     ] net-libs/libsrtp-1.4.4_p20121108  USE="-aesicm -console -debug -doc -static-libs -syslog"
[ebuild  N     ] dev-libs/ppl-0.11.2-r1  USE="-doc -lpsol -pch -static-libs {-test} -watchdog"
[ebuild  N     ] dev-libs/dotconf-1.3
[ebuild   R    ] sys-libs/zlib-1.2.7  USE="minizip*"
[ebuild  N     ] media-libs/opus-1.0.1  USE="-doc -static-libs"
[ebuild  N     ] media-libs/libart_lgpl-2.3.21-r1
[ebuild  N     ] dev-libs/cloog-ppl-0.15.10  USE="-static-libs"
[ebuild  N     ] media-libs/libwebp-0.2.1  USE="-experimental -static-libs"
[ebuild   R    ] dev-libs/libxml2-2.8.0-r3  USE="icu*"
[ebuild  N     ] dev-python/simplejson-2.6.2
[ebuild  N     ] dev-lang/nacl-toolchain-newlib-0_p9093
[ebuild  N     ] media-libs/harfbuzz-0.9.12  USE="-static-libs"
[ebuild  N     ] dev-python/ply-3.4  USE="-examples"
[ebuild  N     ] dev-libs/protobuf-2.4.0a  USE="emacs vim-syntax -examples -java -python -source -static-libs"
[ebuild  N     ] app-accessibility/espeak-1.45.04  USE="pulseaudio -portaudio"
[ebuild  N     ] app-accessibility/speech-dispatcher-0.7.1-r1  USE="alsa espeak pulseaudio -ao -flite -nas -python"
[ebuild  N     ] www-client/chromium-25.0.1364.97  USE="cups -bindist -custom-cflags -gnome -gnome-keyring -kerberos (-pulseaudio) (-selinux) (-system-ffmpeg) (-tcmalloc) {-test}" LINGUAS="es -am -ar -bg -bn -ca -cs -da -de -el -en_GB -es_LA -et -fa -fi -fil -fr -gu -he -hi -hr -hu -id -it -ja -kn -ko -lt -lv -ml -mr -ms -nb -nl -pl -pt_BR -pt_PT -ro -ru -sk -sl -sr -sv -sw -ta -te -th -tr -uk -vi -zh_CN -zh_TW"

My profile is:
Code:
  [3]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop *

I want both pulseaudio and system-ffmpeg enabled, how can I find the reason on why it is masked? The parentheses indicates that it is a profile mask, but the funny thing is that my profile doesn't mask pulseaudio, and in fact I installed other programs with pulseaudio flag, so I don't get why it is masked.

The pulseaudio backend is considered experimental upstream until version 27.

Chromium 25 requires speech-dispatcher, which uses pulse-audio as its default back end. Is there something inconsistent here? (I do believe chromium/speech-dispatcher will work fine with alsa - emerging now.)

More people testing with system-ffmpeg would be great.

Feel free to adapt http://phajdan-jr.blogspot.com/2010/11/www-clientchromium-experimental-support.html to unmask system-ffmpeg USE flag.

If USE=pulseaudio compiles for you, please report that and I'll unmask the flag.

I've got chromium 25.0.1364.152 successfully emerged using system-ffmpeg (media-video/ffmpeg 1.0.5) on a mostly amd64 system with a few ~amd64. I mostly use firefox, so I don't used chromium extensively. Is there anything in particular I can do to test? Particular web sites? Is there any other info I can provide?

The more HTML5 video you can test, the better. YouTube HTML5 version, other sites possibly... just video on the internet I'd guess. Watch out for crashes, things failing to play, any glitches etc. All of these would be bugs.

Ah, and feel free to play with ffmpeg USE flags - especially disabling some - and see if HTML5 video in chromium still works (you shouldn't need to recompile chromium).

Recompiling ffmpeg isn't bad - but chromium takes hours on my system, so it's good it can just sit for a while.

Also - if I do find problems, should I log bugs against ffmpeg or chromium?
