Every file i create on a mounted device is executable. It is annoying if i try to list only executable files, and then everything is listet.
Even if i execute "touch some_new_file" it is executable. I cant remove this flag with "chmod -x some_new_file"

Here my fstab:

Code:
...
/dev/sdb1   /mnt/usb_1   auto   rw,noauto,users,exec   0 0
...

RandomLinuxUser,

What filesystem?

Post the output of
Code:
df -T
Not all filesystems support Linux permissions.

RandomLinuxUser,

yep, thats the reason.

If you do not fake the +x mode, you will not be able to cd to a subdirectory on the filesystem. Thats annoying too.
