hi,
how create img files for freedos?

--- edit

wow it does.
but anyway, I can't mount freedos image from livedvd
Code:
# mount -o loop /mnt/SysRescueCD/bootdisk/freedos.img /mnt/img
NTFS signature is missing.
Failed to mount '/dev/loop/5': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/loop/5' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?

Why NTFS? Can NTFS be used without partition table? Can FreeDOS handle NTFS?

Since he did not provided fstype it was cheacking each one and ntfs just happen to print an error.

Not sure what you are up to but fwiw I used to remaster freedos iso images to put bios updates there (when they are too big for even 2.88 floppies) and boot such image with syslinux's memdisk right from my bootloader.

from gentoo livedvd I can mount only dban.img.
But still can't boot my own created images, because I need more space for firmware and awflash.

Anyone else can mount an images from gentoo livedvd?

You do know you need to run sys command in DOS to write boot sector?
Anyway, once I created a 2.8 MiB image, should have plenty of free space. Download it here. I used dd to put it in a USB stick and it worked.

yes I did with 64mb fat32...
Code:
./sys-freedos.pl -lba --disk=freedos.img
DOS boot sector for freedos.img will be created by:
  nasm -o /dev/stdout   /usr/src/bootsecs/boot32lb.asm
Using FAT32 LBA. Partn offset 0, CHS *x64x32  Drive 0, (0x0, 0x29),
SerNo E8A4-6661, Strings '           ',  'FAT32   '.
Boot sector successfully updated.

No 2mb, not enough for asus firmware and flasher.
here my image

:edit
That looks like it start working with lba image, but that command is wrong from fdconfig.sys
Code:
12345?!SHELL=A:\COMMAND.COM A:\ /E:2048 /F /MSG /P=A:\FREEDOS\FDAUTO.BAT
