Hedmo, I'd say the first thing to determine is how they install software on it. Are there instructions about upgrades or patches? It may be that you have to do it over a network or use a bootable USB. What is the hadware under the hood? _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |

Well the mention of Linux is promising. What does your manual say about upgrades? What does this thing have for other access. I'm guessing from this alone you'll need a bootable USB to install. _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |

to reinstall the home server i had to put it in a recovery mode on the server and connect it to a lan port on a pc (ms-windows) and run the install cd.after 1 and 1/2h it was reinstalled.thats all. maybe there is a usb-vga cable to get picture or something like that

Interesting. I guess you'll need to check what the install CD is doing. It may just be copying a bootable image into a special location in which case you could try the same. Can you get any sense of what is on the CD? _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |
