|
|
Hello All,
I've just installed LXDE and can't get it to start via .xinitrc with "exec startlxde" or startlxde right at the CLI.
I followed this wiki -- but I used emerge versus paludis
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/Gentoo
Tips and assistance greatly appreciated.

You will have to provide additional information. What messages do you get in your logs? _________________ nichocouk

Hi nichocouk,
I tailed
/var/log/messages
&
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
while at init-3
did not see anything at all enter into the logs. There's no interaction/response or error.
Even when I modify my .xinitrc file and startx I get nothing.
Not a show-stopper per se, I use XFCE and it works I'm just interested to see LXDE working. |

The wiki looks weird to me I must say!
I followed The LXDE Configuration HOWTO and this works fine for me.
I'm using slim as displaymanager.
