Other than the humidity, this is the one thing preventing me from considering Texas as a viable option.

The bible belt is going to need lap band surgery if these wacky views continue to be promoted by elected officials.
Still, the number of urban legends that the majority of people seem to regard as fact is a worry. To disprove their notions is often an uphill struggle since even after proof is offered they slide back to their old way of thinking. It's almost as if they were programmed to revert... |

Just can't get away from crazy. You have the religious nutters attacking evolution, and the leftist nutters attacking history, logic, reason, civics, literature, and the culture writ large. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Religious nutters are awfully fond of rewriting history, are required by dogma to shun logic and reason, and their idea of culture is a good ol' fashioned book burnin'. _________________ Those who know what's best for us must rise and save us from ourselves. |

I'm always amazed by evolution. It's a very elegant theory and explains quite a lot. On the other hand, if you think that earth is only about 6000 years old, you have to have an intelligent designer. 6000 years is not enough for all this evolution to happen. _________________ Kali Ma

I just assumed the admins finally woke up to what a disaster he was. He should have been perma banned years ago... especially when he started cyber-stalking BK and posting his RL info here. That is never cool. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

You know, only recently I watched the first episode of The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon went back home to his mother in TX after his friends had meddled with his experiment on the north pole and said he would now teach evolution to Texans.
This wouldn't be funny if there wasn't at least some truth in the cliché that creationism is abundant in TX. _________________ Kali Ma

From anecdotal evidence, it seems like the vast majority fit the stereotype. _________________ Those who know what's best for us must rise and save us from ourselves. |
