(Sorry for the poor formatting, I copied into vim and it turned out like this even with :set paste).

Hint: the actual error would help.
To get it here, emerge wgetpaste then wgetpaste /var/tmp/portage/www-client/firefox-17.0.2/temp/build.log and post the url returned. Should also save you from battling vim's formatting. _________________ First things first, but not necessarily in that order.
Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box. |

Thanks for the tip, I'll remember that next time.
Thankfully this error is probably something trivial though. I checked dmesg and it appears it simply ran out of memory (OOM killer killed it). |

Teegrins, deltamalloc!
Very likely running out of room there (memory, usually... adding more of that, or swap, oft does the trick).
It is a rather common cause for this particular build.
See for example the topic Firefox 7.0.1-r1 fails to emerge [solved] for more tips; I hope they'll be of help!
Edit:
Oops, you got to the answer before I got the post ready to go!
Hurray~
(And here I thought I checked the Topic review before posting.) _________________ Kindest of regardses. |
