I have an HP P1005 running nicely on 3.5.4. Udev is setup to load firmware, when I plug the printer in. I followed the P1006 guide from gentoo-wiki, and it all works perfect.
When I run 3.7, however, the firmware does not load at all. Logs show that the printer is found.
I suspect that I either did something wrong when configuring the kernel, or that the kernel handles my printer in a new and fancy way when I plug it in.
I can load the firmware manually in both kernels, but the hotplugging functionallity wont do the job for me in 3.7
The kernel still has hotplug and all I could think of looks the same in the two kernel-configs.
I just made the switch from udev 171 to 197 with no change in behaviour in either kernel(3.5.4 still works and 3.7 still doesn't)
Here is output from udevadm(3.5.4):

Any suggestions on why it stopped working and anyone who knows how to fix this? |
