Some one uses v4l in INPUT_DEVICES, some other uses v4l for VIDEO_CARDS .
What is v4l here ?

v4l in VIDEO_CARDS refers to the freedesktop xf86-video-v4l (video 4 linux) driver

v4l has no meaning under INPUT_DEVICES as no v4l input device exists for xorg-drivers

as a USE flag .. v4l more broadly refers to : v4l - Enable support for video4linux (using linux-headers or userspace libv4l libraries) {from use.desc}
