I have just built a new system based on Intel i5-3570K, mobo Asrock Z77 Extreme 4. I am using the integrated Intel HD4000 as video card.
Everything seems fine but when I play video, I experience video tearing. This happens with both mplayer and vlc, and also with videos from youtube. However, it doesn't happen with a live version of Ubuntu, so I guess I have something not correctly configured on Gentoo.

| DaggyStyle's advice is sound, however, if it doesn't work (especially 1080p), you might need to wait for kernel 3.8, where a final proper fix is allegedly there for pretty much all Intel based graphics. |

| Thanks a lot!! I tried DaggyStyle's and it is working (not tried with 1080p, but at least it works with videos I usually see). Happy to hear there are improvements to come in future releases. |
