Where, exactly is the poor driving? He drove over couple of white divider lines, that's it? _________________ "Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated, until defeat has been accepted as a reality." -- Bruce Lee |

In the state of California, that is considered poor driving. Particularly where he's swirving. |

Local wisdom has it that people should have to pass a separate driving test for 4x4 style vehicles, especially mothers on a school run who seem oblivious of the actual width of their vehicle. I suggested it recently but was told that I would only be able to stop them driving the SUV when I took the keys from their "cold dead hands". Stay tuned for the baffling case of an entire suburb of soccer moms gunned down by a antipodean communist while they drove their Ford Explorers to pick up their kids. |

Sorry, was I being unclear? I'll simplify: people who buy SUVs often don't realise how different they are to drive compared with a family sedan. They maybe should have to practice driving in order for the sort of driving you saw not to happen. However this is not the case so maybe people, in my experience mostly driving their kids to school, drive all over the place because they don't know the width of the vehicle.
Do you understand now? |

Nice, I should show a bit of the car traffic around here .... All cars in your video are slow as snails .... on a road like that there is a speed limit of 70mph here and cars driving at 80mph are not uncommon .... Also very few cars in the video, it must be a quiet place _________________ True ignorance is not the absence of knowledge, but the refusal to acquire it.

That's a pet hate of mine, it doesn't help that most of them can't actually
drive properly too.
Plenty of examples of shitty driving around these parts, including a memorable trip
up the motorway during a heavy bout of snow and being passed by cars hitting 50 mph.

50 MPH or 50 KPH? I think 50 KPH during snow to be reasonable. |

it is _not_ everywhere. Some cities have roads so narrow that their lanes are almost symbolic and it is ok for your vehicle to go over a white line, especially if your vehicle is wider than a lane, in which case a 2 lane street is converted temporarily into a 1.5, or even better: a street with 2 directions gets converted into a fun game of seeing who goes through first before you get stuck in the middle.
Having said all this, the OP's video shows some poor driving, looks like the driver is making a cup of tea, or perhaps texting on a touchscreen phone with 2 hands. |

Catchy tune.
I like when the scooters get nailed. I like to imagine they are the "SUVs are 3\/17" crowd (in the case of India, I assume most aren't). _________________ I can saw a woman in two, but you won't want to look in the box when I'm through.

I was referring to the US. Regardless of lane width, unintentionally crossing lines is poor driving. If lanes are insufficiently wide, that's a different issue. _________________ I can saw a woman in two, but you won't want to look in the box when I'm through.

http://youtu.be/71RRcv5Jci0 This is the original song (sung by the same guy), which formed the tune. _________________ "Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated, until defeat has been accepted as a reality." -- Bruce Lee |

The guy in wswartzendruber clip is wasting fuel, the streetlights are syncronized at a certain speed I think and the driver of the veicle that is filming is driving at the correct speed to get all green lights, grune linie in deutschland, those syncro traffic lights don't work too well here as well and in Italy there are none left, in Germany they are still in use (IIRC).
As you can see in my clip we are a traffic light free area, a few years ago a funeral party with the mayor and so on was held when the last traffic light in town was removed and replaced by a roundabout. Italy and France aim to replace all (or most) traffic lights with roundabout. It works, the traffic always flows, very few accidents, less fuel wasted and so on. _________________ True ignorance is not the absence of knowledge, but the refusal to acquire it.

Well here if you drive that way you are almost certainly going to be tested for alcool and drugs (if the police car sees that AND the cops have a saliva or sweat tester for drugs on board, they are expensive and used rarely)... _________________ True ignorance is not the absence of knowledge, but the refusal to acquire it.
