I recently made the jump from stable to ~amd64, and everything is working great, except for the frequent chromium updates. I'd like to stay on the stable version just to avoid frequent reinstalls, so is there a way to mask the ~ versions? I read up on package.mask and package.keywords, but couldn't seem to find a way to do this (besides masking versions >= 24 manually, but then they would stay masked after they become stable). It is possible to do this?

Yes. For that package, disallow unstable keywords and then explicitly allow stable keywords. |

Figured it out… it was as simple as adding "www-client/chromium -~amd64" in package.keywords… thanks for the nudge in the right direction! |
