I recently made the jump from stable to ~amd64, and everything is working great, except for the frequent chromium updates. I'd like to stay on the stable version just to avoid frequent reinstalls, so is there a way to mask the ~ versions? I read up on package.mask and package.keywords, but couldn't seem to find a way to do this (besides masking versions >= 24 manually, but then they would stay masked after they become stable). It is possible to do this?

Yes. For that package, disallow unstable keywords and then explicitly allow stable keywords.

Figured it out… it was as simple as adding "www-client/chromium -~amd64" in package.keywords… thanks for the nudge in the right direction!
