As the title says, I want to enable unicode for coreutils, while portage obstinately refuses to do as I tell it. What am I doing wrong?

Code:
[ebuild     U  ] sys-apps/coreutils-8.20 [8.16] USE="acl nls -caps -gmp (-selinux) -static -vanilla -xattr (-unicode%*)" 5,170 kB

I have
Code:
USE="unicode"
in my make.conf, I have
Code:
sys-apps/coreutils unicode
in my package.use, and emerge --info shows that it is indeed set
Code:
weirdwolf ~ # emerge --info

coreutils-8.20 don't have the unicode use flag

Code:
[ebuild   R    ] sys-apps/coreutils-8.20  USE="acl nls -caps -gmp (-selinux) -static -vanilla -xattr"

You aren't doing anything wrong.

coreutils have been, and using the unicode useflag and declaring it in the IUSE variable. (Which is the correct way to do)

Apparently, coreutils 8.20 still uses the unicode useflag in the ebuild' src_prepare but no longer sets it in the IUSE.

As far as I would tend to dare believing... That's a bug.

EDIT: Forgot to update my browser, so I did not see the last post.

Thank you for reassuring me that I will still have a unicode aware coreutils.
