Hi, what is wrong with net-misc/tigervnc-1.2.0 on amd64? It builts with default USE, but not with USE="server" which I need.
Is there any better vnc server?

Regards,
Massimo

The problem is that "-Werror=int-to-pointer-cast" is added by the build system. This turns what used to be a warning into an error. A possible workaround is to insert "-Wno-error=int-to-pointer-cast" into CFLAGS at the right place. The other possibility is to fix the code, but no idea how to go about that.

Edit: Just found something interesting in the Fedora RPM spec file. Try this: open the ebuild, find the section where a whole bunch of stuff for the server is configured, add --disable-selective-werror there.

Thank you, that worked. Maybe that CFLAG should be added to the ebuild? I filed a [bug 445896] for this.

Thanks for opening a bug. I commented there, proposed a patch for the ebuild.

Usually, that error indicates buggy code which will fail to execute correctly. The error should be fixed, not downgraded into a warning.
