PostPosted: Thu Nov 22, 2012 10:18 am    Post subject: [solved] emerge fails with " cannot find -lboost_python Reply with quote

Every attempt to emerge any of the ev-python/pyexiv2 ebuilds alway ends with
Code:
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.4/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lboost_python
I've re-emerged boost but the fail continues. Haven't been able to a fix by searching ..... can someone help me out please

Did you try revdep-rebuild?

Can you post emerge --info?

Yes it is
Code:
[ebuild   R    ] dev-libs/boost-1.49.0-r2  USE="python -debug -doc -icu -mpi -static-libs -tools"
Is there any other use flag I should use?

the ebuild is screwed

I don't care enough to fix it up, but this should make it compile

Code:
--- dev-python/pyexiv2/pyexiv2-0.3.0-r1.ebuild
+++ dev-python/pyexiv2/pyexiv2-0.3.2.ebuild
@@ -22,8 +22,16 @@
    dev-libs/boost[python]"
 RDEPEND="${DEPEND}"

+pkg_setup() {
+   python_set_active_version 2
+}
+
 src_prepare() {
    epatch "${FILESDIR}"/${P}-docs.patch
+
+   sed -i \
+      -e "s/boost_python/boost_python-$(python_get_version)/" \
+      src/SConscript || die
 }

 src_compile() {

the other ebuild (http://gpo.zugaina.org/data/bgo-overlay/dev-python/pyexiv2/pyexiv2-0.3.2.ebuild) seems to get it more right while passing "BOOSTLIB="boost_python-${PYTHON_ABI}"" to escons
