After upgrading to xorg-1.13 gdm won't start (but X will start via startx). I did rebuild all the x11 drivers
I retrieved a coredump and got a backtrace:

Code:

done.

Do you need "set solib-search-path" or "set sysroot"?

XEVIE was removed from Xorg over 4 years ago, however gdm is adding the argument, not me

Update: I added the follow lines to the [servers] /etc/X11/gdm/custom.conf to override the one in /usr/share/gdm/defaults.con
Code:

[server-Standard]
name=Standard server
command=/usr/bin/X -audit 0

This works but isn't ideal.

I am having the same problem.
Any solution?

edit: I found another workaround that appears a little cleaner to me:
the XEVIE extension is required for accessibility features. Reemerging gdm without the accessibility use flag did the trick for me.

well it may have been required for accessibility features eons ago, but it hasn't existed in Xorg since end of 2008. Unfortunately, the current stable gdm in Portage is quite old, gnome-base/gdm-2.32.1 is hardmasked due toy multiple regressions, and anything newer pulls in the rest of GNOME 3.
