Hi,

It is my first Gentoo install and I use KDE,
In system settings I can add fr and fr-bepo keyboards but when I chose one, other than us, it has no effect at all and I stay with us
Even the icon in notification area continue to display us
What could I do ?

I have found a solution. In fact at the same time I was having a warning message at login

Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session : Unable to open session : Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/System bus socket : No such file or directory


The following command fixed everything

Code:
rc-update add dbus default
rc-update add consolekit default


I had also to remove all layouts and re-add them.

I don't remember seeing that I had to enter this command in the manual and I must re-read it to check.
