I recently ran an emerge -avuDN world...I don't recall what it rebuilt, but I remember there was an error...when I tried revdep-rebuild right after the emerge, I ran into this problem...

I noticed a few posts on this forum and others, but nothing has helped my situation...

I rebuilt curl and libgnutls, both seemed to build fine, but still the problem persists...not sure how to proceed from here, since I can't emerge anything right now...

Code:

Have you tried rebuilding the program which is broken?

start by rebuilding wget (with USE="-gnutls")

then you should be able to fetch whichever you need (and, i wouldnt go the bull in a china shop route of rebuilding world; revdep-rebuild once wget is fixed, as mentioned above)

and if you end up really really really really stuck, there's always binpackages on the tinderbox

Yes this problem is still evident with version 3.1.4 of gnutls as well. In my case (1)I have masked version 3.1.3 as that was creating hassles case (2) tonight in the rebuild of kde-4.9.3 upgrade gnutls-3.1.4 has been pulled in. At this time I ran revdep-rebuild which ran into the same hassle I had previously with ldap, so rather than call a halt I restarted the build with skipfirst, which at this time is still working rebuilding webkit.
Let you know how this turns out when I restart the kde build.

oops, forgot to update this post, and now I forgot my exact steps...

I did rebuild wget, but with no USE restrictions...I then rebuilt curl and libgnutils and ran revdep-rebuild

this seems to have solved my problem...
