I don't think the Firewire stuff exists as raw1394 in recent kernels any more. So my regular user can no longer use gscanbus the way it used to. I need to figure out what needs to happen with the new Firewire stack.

We have firewire-core and firewire-ohci now. I used to have /etc/udev/rules.d/raw1394.rules:

Code:

KERNEL=="raw1394", GROUP="audio", MODE="0664"

gscanbus runs as root, but freezes as my regular user. My regular user is part of the disk group, as well as the audio group. Not sure if I need to give extra permissions of some kind to the audio group.

Would appreciate any advice. I should add whatever has changed to the Gentoo Studio guide.
