when trying to run chromium, i get the following error
Code: | Couldn't set GL mode: X11 driver not configured with OpenGL |
and a similar one with tuxracer
what do i change to fix this? |

Enable DRI and/or GLX in your Xserver, and load your proprietary driver modules if your card manufacturer doesn't support open source drivers.
In the particular case of Nvidia cards, you can emerge nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx. Then make sure DRI is disabled, GLX enabled, and you're using the "nvidia" device (not "nv") in your XF86Config file.
nvidia-kernel insists on installing kernel-gentoo first so if you're using a different or custom kernel, the first install will fail. You can make it use your current kernel sources if you nuke the "linux" symlink it creates in /usr/src and re-link it back to your own sources. Then run emerge nvidia-kernel again. |

i have glx in my XF86Config, and i dont hav dri. i know i have the nvidia drivers set up, because quake3 runs. what else could this be? |
