Hello guys,
I was really happy about my new laptop purchased, until today I have discovered that it is a system based on nvidia optimus.
These are days that I try to start xorg without any success.
I tried to start only xorg with intel driver, but it does not work, and now I was trying with bumblebee, but it doesn't work.
This is the problem of bumblebee:
Code: |
# /etc/init.d/bumblee start
* Starting VirtualGL . . .
xauth: file list does not exist
|
I saw that someone else has had this problem in the forum, someone have resolved?
Thanks,
Regards. |

Go here:

I had a similar problem, when I finally figured it out I detailed it step by step.
also, Nvidia claims there is a fix in the works. I'm not holding my breath but bumblebee works ok for now.

Where did you see this "claim"?
All they did was look a bit into what it would take to support xrandr1.4. However, it's unlikely that they'll ever support Optimus, because the kernel devs don't want to give them access to DMA-BUF |

I'm not about to argue over this. I'm simply going off of the news available. If you think the comment is incorrect, you should take it up with them.

Thanks for your help.
I read the thread, i've purged nvidia-driver and compiled intel driver.
But when i try to start X i got a black screen, and this error in Xorg.0.log:
Code: |
(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib64/dri/i965_dri.so failed (/usr/lib64/dri/i965_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
|
Anyone have some ideas?
Thanks |
