hi there
I reccently made some testings with a live cd and used the stage3-amd64-20120917.tar.bz2 tarball
after succesfull installation the first boot up freezes at kernel "init-early.sh used..."
I have a solution
Code: |
cd /mnt/gentoo/dev
rm null |
Code: |
mknod --mode=600 console c 5 1
mknod --mode=666 null c 1 3
mknod --mode=666 zero c 1 5
|
thx neddyseagoon for your earlier post here
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-880149.html?sid=7de597df34c53ddac05ecde28596c507
by the way I get the same error at the current hardened-stage tarball but I didnt test yet wether this solution does work for it or not |

I'm having the same problem, as posted in the same thread you linked, but remaking the nodes doesn't seem to work for me.
I'm not chrooting though, I can boot fine if I feed GRUB an "rw" flag, but I'm not sure if it makes a difference? |
