I have a raid mirror of two eSATA drives. Today one of the drives
dropped out owing to a badly seated plug. For the uninitiated eSATA
plugs are almost always wobbly when seated and have no retaining clips
or screws. The effect is that the vibrations caused by a butterfly on
the other side of the globe are usually enough to cause unseating. Does
anyone have any bright ideas about how to more securely seat an eSATA
plug?

Tape - the PSA will perish and end up in a gummy mess.
Hot glue - I'd like if possible to be able to unplug and replug the ends.

I've jammed a cubic mm of elastic band under a clip of the plug. This makes it more difficult to seat, yes, however the plug appears to be more secure. A photo .
