|
|
Hello!
I recently bought a HP MicroServer and now I am trying to install gentoo (via install-amd64-minimal). There is a link detected on the card, but the card itself is not detected by gentoo. When I was searching the internet I saw that the driver TG3 is used, but also when I do "modprobe tg3" the card is not detected...
Any ideas?
Br,

Which kernel version are you using? Is it the installer CD? Sure you have the latest installer CD?
Do other Linux work with it?
Try /usr/sbin/lspci -v to see if it enumerated and attached to a driver or not...
If it really is a tigon3 then quite possibly it has a new pci id and the driver doesn't recognize it. May need a kernel update to see it... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
What am I supposed watching? |

It shows:
Code: |
Ethernet Controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5723 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10)
Subsystem: Hewlet-Packard Company NC107i Integrated PCI Express Gigabit Server Adapter
IRQ 18
...
...
Kernel driver in use: tg3
Kernel modules: tg3

And yes, I am using the latest installer CD (minimal amd64) from www.gentoo.org.

I tested now the latest official release of Gentoo LiveCD. With the LiveCD the network is working...

Hello,
solved for me:
ifconfig eth0 up
/etc/init.d/network start
net-setup eth0
--> manually enter net config. DHCP did not work.
