Hi.

When I open topic by clicking a link in notification email (informing about new post) I get "this topic does not exist" error (or similar message). Then I have to open forum main page and find desired topic from start.

Here is an example link from mail https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?pq41568#7141568

Can Anyone take a look at this please?

This is what happens when somebody deletes a post.

Yes I guess does
I can't be 100% sure no post was deleted, but I don't think so, given this thing happens to me in 100% of cases over months now, maybe even a year - in fact I don't remember when it was working last time :P

Hmmm..

This is what my notifications look like:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=7142256#7142256

Note that yours seems to have a 'q' where mine has '=".

When I change yours to have a '=' instead of 'q', it opens a thread, although it is a thread from 2002, some maybe something else (such as a number) is also getting mangled).
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=41568#7141568

Maybe this has something to do with the character set you are using in your email client, or something similar?

It's not a right topic it should lead to

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-936778-start-0-postdays-0-postorder-asc-highlight-.html

but You might be on a right trail. 99% of time I'm clicking those links from phone mail client and open it in a built in browser (iphone).
My first post in this very topic was written on a phone and link pasted directly from mail.

Maybe something is messed up with encoding.

EDIT

Yep, link in mail opened on a phone is messed up, its
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?pq41568#7141568

and opening same mail on a desktop gives
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=7141568#7141568

it converts '=71' to 'q'? :o

Ok so it's not a f.g.o fault, sorry for blaming You for a year now

Hopefully you'll be able to sort out the encoding.

By the way, 71 is the hex ASCII code for 'q'.

You're welcome. Put "solved" in thread title. :)

Also, it might have been possible to fix it on the iPhone instead, if the character set of the mail app is configurable. You shouldn't have to change your language in order to be able to click a link.

No way, they barely allowing user to setup an email account
Fault may also be on Google side, I'm using GMail via their Exchange connector, which is specifically made only to provide push functionality on apple's devices - I guess it's not the most important service for them.

It's a grand conspiracy to convert the world to American English.
