|
|
ffmpegthumbs is failing to compile with ffmpeg 0.10.2-r1. I've tried both ffmpegthumbs-4.9.1 (head version) and ffmpegthumbs-4.8.5 (previous) and both fail the same way.
Code: |
/var/tmp/portage/kde-base/ffmpegthumbs-4.9.1/work/ffmpegthumbs-4.9.1/ffmpegthumbnailer/moviedecoder.cpp:59: error: 'avformat_open_input' was not declared in this scope |
It seems that ffmpegthumbs perhaps has a finer dependency of ffmpeg version than the blanket "virtual/ffmpeg" in the .ebuild. Here are the versions involved.
Code: |
[ebuild R ] virtual/ffmpeg-0.10.2-r1 USE="X encode theora threads truetype x264 -jpeg2k -mp3 -sdl -vaapi -vdpau" 0 kB
[ebuild U ~] kde-base/ffmpegthumbs-4.9.1 [4.8.1] USE="(-aqua) -debug" 0 kB |
My emerge --info is below. Is there a known working version ffmpeg for ffmpegthumbs? Perhaps I should file a bug ...
Code: |
cliff ~ # emerge --info

I've just installed it fine, using ffmpeg 0.10.4. |

Unfortunately still the same issue for me. What version of ffmpegthumbs were you able to build? Maybe I have a tools issue? Hard to imagine, I'm at gcc 4.5.3-r1, latest is gcc 4.5.4. |

I'm using ~amd64, so gcc 4.6.3 and ffmpegthumbs 4.9.1.
Maybe your MAKEOPTS=-j7 is too high, I've seen that break things often. |

I ran it single threaded for the same reason :-) Same breakage :-(
I'll try gcc 4.6.3. It does seems like a c++ thing, the error message is in C++ code calling the extern "C" libavcodec function. |

still no joy with gcc 4.6.3. Anyone else have any thoughts as to why it builds for Ant P but not for me? |
