Hey all, I am posting here in hopes you guys can help me. I am new to linux so please bear with me.
Twofold question here:
I am currently in the process of installing grub2 using "grub2-install --no-floppy /dev/sda"
This is the output:
Code:
mint linux # grub2-install --no-floppy /dev/sda
source_dir doesn't exist. Please specify --target or --directory

What should my --target or --directory be? What command should I use to find it?

This is also a dual boot. Are there any suggestions for this? I was unable to find anything in the handbook.
Code:
Device Boot      Start         End      Blocks   Id  System
/dev/sda1   *   136312832   136632319      159744    7  HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda2       136632320   234441647    48904664    7  HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda3               1       65535       32767+  83  Linux
/dev/sda4           65536    22085631    11010048    5  Extended
/dev/sda5           67584     1116159      524288   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda6         1118208    22085631    10483712   83  Linux

OK, from looking through the original thread I think you're totally confused at this point and I have no idea where you are at with the installation :?

How far along with the install are you i.e. what chapter/part of the installation handbook did you complete :?:

UPDATE: Never mind - I missed a couple of pages there

I'll let the original thread participants follow-up...
