Yesterday, when I startx everything was perfectly fine. I could browse the net, open terminal, move the mouse...etc
Now, when I startx, I can't move the mouse at all. it's frozen. What do I do? |

depend, if it's really a "i didn't do anything!" query, the answer is change your mouse
if it's "i did update something" try do "emerge -1 $(qlist -IC x11-drivers/)"
and if it's a "i did update the kernel" then check your HID support in it and rebuild/reinstall it.
in you still don't know or it doesn't work, i'm afraid you will have to say something better than (resume) "it doesn't works" |

I emeged x11-driver firmware I believe. I really dunno why, I probably should've looked up what I was installing before installing it. What do I do now? |

So i tried 'emerge -1 $(qlist -IC x11-drivers/)'
When I startx I got error messages from xterm and the screen blacked out. I emerged xterm and then tried to startx, it works but my mouse is still stuck. |

You'll need to reinstall the input drivers specifically. I also have this sometimes when I forget to remerge evdev which then results in a system with a frozen keyboard and mouse. I circumvent the problem by putting the "nox" kernel parameter on the grub boot screen, so I can at least remerge my stuff in console. |
