Hi to everybody!
I have a vps server with gentoo 64bit I can' t install charset utf-8, in previous exeprience i was able to install everytime.

I followed the official guide and after locale-gen, env-update source... i have all the variables LC setted on posix. I have restarted the system too but nothing is changed.

Please post the content of /etc/env.d/02locale.
Also can you try if the problem persists when logging in as another user (you may need to create one).

If you don't have that file how could you followed the official guide?
Read it once more and configure your Gentoo properly :)

I followed the guide, i add the file /etc/portage/make.conf the only thing missing but the situation don' t change. is o2locale a file that i a have to edit maually or should be there automatically?

You need to create the file manually and put your locale definitions there.
