hi all

i have my screens in rotated mode in my DE and i wonder if i can rotate grub and the console at boot.
it is quite hard to see when it is 90degrees wrong :roll:

I'm not sure if that will affect the grub screen itself or not. :-(

thanks for the fast reply.dont i need a framebuffer driver for that? (like vesa).i am using fglrx...
but i Will check when i am at My box after work.

Yeah, I don't know. I've never had to try before.

Another option, I suppose, would be to look at the settings on the monitor itself. Maybe there's something to rotate it in the hardware so it's presented in portrait to begin with?

right now i am trying to get fbsplash to work i have followed :

http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fbsplash and http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Framebuffer

to get it to work but getting "Failed to start the splash daemon, error code 256".i had a initramfs so the command i was using was:

splash_geninitramfs --verbose --res NxN --append /path/to/initramfsimage theme.
