Hi,

I'm trying to install Gnome on a fresh system and it fails with :

Seems itstool doesn't work if active python version is 3.x (it is in your case, right ?).
I wonder, if that changes once python 3.3 is out, though there are plans to move Gnome to python3 (but, IIRC, only since 3.8 ).

Yes. The fresh system uses python 3.2. Now: how to install gnome?

Solved.

I edit make.conf with USE_PYTHON="2.7" - did not work.

Also: python-updater brings some '/dev/fd/62 not found' errors, solved with ln -s /proc/self/fd /dev/fd (http://www.ducea.com/2009/02/18/linux-tips-bash-completion-devfd62-no-such-file-or-directory/), but it lists 3.2 as active version.

Right answer is https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6520134.html :

eselect python set python2.7 and now it emerges ...
