Hi,
I'm trying to install gnome 3.4.2, I unmasked the packages required (Used the gnome overlay unmask and use lists then removed the overlay)
The installation fails when it reaches cheese with the error: error while loading shared libraries: libcogl.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

Any ideas?
Here are the relevant files as instructed by the emerge output:

emerge --info '=media-video/cheese-3.4.2'

You should file a BUG.(use "GNOME" as the component and prefix the one-line summary with "[gnome-overlay]")

Hi, thanks for the reply, i'm not using gnome-overlay just the mask file from it.
Anyway i just solved it by re-emerging x11-libs/mx. (It seemed to be the package complaining about the library)

Thanks, good tip. This should probably be fixed by running revdep-rebuild, if it isn't it's definitely a bug.

Not sure if anyone is working on this bug, but I just ran into the same problem. Posting my results here for posterity.

It went ahead and rebuilt x11-libs/mx, then succeeded building media-video/cheese.

cheese was fixed by mx recompile.... gnome-shell is still freaking out about "libcogl.so.9" not found, recompiling mutter stopped gnome-shell from freaking out
