Ok, I missed to find the bug evidently... Petnium M is a PIII derivative. I'll add my information there, thanks

Interestingly it's a Gentoo bug - that is, the original gcc from gnu.org compiles correctly.
But I don't know where gentoo gets its patches from.

You can workaround it by temporarily changing CFLAGS -march=pentium-m to -march=i686 when building GCC 4.6. Being built with i686 will not change the compiled output of GCC.

Thanks - I'll give that a try. I can't recall what flags the Gnu version built with, so it may in fact
be a bug in GCC itself.
