I just upgraded to 3.4.0 and I've noticed my mouse is really laggy. If I leave it alone for about five seconds and then try to move it the cursor won't move for another second and when it does it jumps. As you can tell this is pretty annoying. Anyone else seeing this? Anyone have any clues? |

I ran cat /dev/input/mouse0 and left my mouse alone for five seconds and then tried to move it. For the second nothing happens no data comes from /dev/input/mouse0. The mouse moves only when data starts coming through. This is definitely a kernel issue. |

Is it a usb mouse? If so, is the powermanagement turned on for that usb device? _________________ emerge --quiet redefined | E17 vids: I, II | Now using kde5 | e is unstable :-/ |

Turning that off seems to of fixed it. Why is this turned on by default in the newer kernel? Also whats the best way to config my system to turn this off by default?
BTW, for those having the same problem great tutorial on how to change the setting at http://www.lesswatts.org/projects/devices-power-management/usb.php |

After updating kernel to 3.4 I've noticed the same with keyboard (though my mouse works fine): after being idle for a few seconds first few symbols are always missing... I can't verify it right now, but I will do when I'll be at home. I've found this quite strange. Is there some power policy changes in 3.4? |

I believe that there was a policy change, to enable all of this suspend stuff by default. I'd double-check either Phoronix or one of the "Wonderful World of..." articles for more on this. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

Oke, just got home and have checked. In my case, as I expected, for some reason power level of keyboard was "auto" while for mouse was "on". Changing power level solved the problem, but still the question remains: "What has been changed and _why_?" |
