Hello there
Since I enjoyed many Doom games in Gentoo, I'd like to continue using Doomday Engine for my new, updated Gentoo system. However, the game won't compile since I reinstalled everything.
It used to compile well before, back in 2011.
Here's the outpu from emerge --info =games-fps/doomsday-1.9.0_beta69:

I see "lzOpenChunk" near the error point, and it makes me wonder if some compression library has been updated in an incompatible way, and Doomsday hasn't tracked it. There are also problems running Doomsday on and64 - notably that saved games can't be restored.
There is another similar engine - VaVoom. I'm not sure if it's in stock portage, or in an overlay. There are some problems there too, and it may require carefully picking the correct version to attempt building. I tried building VaVoom a bit back, it didn't "just work" through ebuild, and I never got around to checking the overlay versions.
I'm running a copy of Doomsday built long ago, and I don't save games. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

Ok, thanks. I'll try another alternatives, like gzdoom (even of it's a pain to build this one on linux)
Thanks anyway, depointous! |
